Phone Can’t Press Number Entry During Call

Problem: Hi, I have a Galaxy note 3 and when I’m in a call and am asked to enter a prompt… enter 1 for English.. It will not go to that prompt.. It will just keep asking for me to enter the number again. Have you ever seen this before? Help. Thank you.

Solution: Try placing the same call again and when you are prompted to press the number one, press the keypad option first on your screen. This should bring up the number keypad. Once the keypad is displayed you can then proceed to pressing the number one.

If after pressing the number one the system is still asking you to enter the number again then the issue may be with your phone or the system itself.

For phone related issues what you could do is to restart your phone first then clear the cache of your phone app.

From the home screen, tap the Apps icon.Tap Settings. On the More tab, tap Application manager.Tap the All tab.Scroll to and tap the Phone application.Tap Clear cache. The application cache is now cleared.

If the issue persists then it may be system related. Try calling another number that requires you to press on a number and check if the issue is still the same.

phone  Not Downloading Picture Messages:

Problem: My phone won’t download pictures sent via text message.

Solution: for this type of issue there are two things that you would want to check. First, check if your mobile data subscription is active. You can easily do this by opening a website with your phone browser while connected to your mobile data (with Wi-Fi turned off). If the website opens fine then the first condition has been met.

Second, you will need the correct APN settings of your carrier network. These settings are required so that your phone can send and receive picture messages as well as connect to the Internet.

To check on the APN setting of your phone

From the home screen, tap the Apps icon.Tap Settings.Tap the settings icon.Tap the Connections tab.Tap More networks.Tap Mobile networks.Tap Access Point Names.

Verify the settings that are in your phone with that used by your network and make the necessary changes. You can get your correct network settings from your carrier’s website or you can call their customer support hotline.

My Device Outlook Does Not Sync On Mobile Data

Problem: Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and have been having issues syncing with my Outlook. When i’m connected to a wifi, I’m able to download and sync my outlook account but if I try using mobile data from my SIM card, I can’t connect and sync my outlook. What can i do to get my outlook to sync when using mobile data so that i stop relying on wifi connection to get my outlook emails? Regards.

Solution: You should first check if you have an active mobile data subscription. In most cases, subscriber are unaware that their mobile data subscription has ended. Another common cause is that you are in an area that has a weak mobile data coverage. Try going to a different area and see if your Outlook can sync normally.

If you have determined that your mobile subscription is active and that you have a good mobile data coverage then the next step is to troubleshoot your phone.

What you want to do first is to restart your phone. In most cases, problems such as this can easily be resolved by simply restarting the phone. Once your phone has restarted check if you can sync your Outlook.

If the problem still exists then you should clear the cache of your Outlook app.

From the home screen, tap the Apps icon.Tap Settings. On the More tab, tap Application manager.Tap the All tab.Scroll to and tap the Outlook application.Tap Clear cache. The application cache is now cleared.

If at this point you are still having the same problem then it’s time to wipe the cache partition of your phone.

Turn off the device.Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power keyWhen ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache. With ‘reboot system now’ highlighted, press the Power key to restart the device.

Phone Media Server Draining Battery:

Problem: The Media Server is draining my battery rapidly. I don’t even download movies.. books.. or music. Many forums out there address this issue but their fixes don’t work.  Please help.  I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Thank you.

Solution: The Media Server is designed to scan and index every media file in your phone for easy access. This service however is not perfect and tends to be buggy sometimes. It’s most noticeable effect when it gets buggy is that it will drain the battery of your phone quickly.

The first thing that you should do to resolve this issue is to clear the cache of this service, do a force stop, then reboot your phone.

From the home screen, tap the Apps icon.Tap Settings. On the More tab, tap Application manager.Tap the All tab.Scroll to and tap the Media storage application.Tap Clear cache.Tap Force stopRestart your phone.

If the issue still persists then proceed to the next step below.

Using a file manager program navigate to your SD card then delete any file that has a 0KB size. You can also take out the SD card of your phone then insert it to your PC. Delete any 0KB files stored in the SD card. Reinsert the SD card to your phone then observe if the problem still occurs.  If it still does then you may want to reformat your SD card. Make sure to backup all its contents first.

You should also observe your phone with the SD card taken out. If the battery drain issue does not occur then you may need to replace your SD card as it may already be faulty.

To eliminate the corrupt media files in your phone, which has been known to cause this issue, you should perform a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before proceeding.

Turn off the device.Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key. When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’Press Power button to select.Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘delete all user data.’Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.Press the Power key to turn the restart the device.

Phone Randomly Turns Off

Problem: Hello this is my first mail and I’m not really good with English. So I’m sorry in advance. I have problem with my note 3 that recently turn off by itself. I suspect the phone always turn off while starting (example: when I open the phone screen lock). After it shut off then the phone won’t turn on. I need to charge the phone to turn it on. Until now there were no case that the phone turn off by itself when I’m charging. Is it because of virus that infect my phone, the system or maybe a chance of the hardware problem? Please help me with this issue. Thanks a lot.

Solution: If your phone does not turn on if it isn’t connected to the charger then it may be the battery that is causing the problem. Try using another battery and check if your phone does not randomly turn itself off.

If the issue still persists despite using another battery then you may have to do a factory reset on your phone. This eliminates the possibility of a software glitch that may be the cause of the problem. Jut make sure to backup your data before proceeding.

Phone Google Notification Issue:

Problem: Need your help. I’ll take a few pictures and my phone will ding. It’s Google telling me to share my new pictures. I don’t want to share any pictures. How do I stop this continuous notification? What I do is just close it out but it will dung again like I’ve got an email coming in from my Gmail.   When I look —it’s another Google notification telling me to share my latest photos which I never want to do.  How do I make this stop?? It’s annoying. If u want to send someone a picture I can do that when I want.  Thanks so much

Solution: To stop getting notifications of your photos being uploaded to the cloud and ready to be shared open the Google+ app from your phone (make sure you are connected to the Internet when doing this). Click on Settings (this is the three dots located on the upper right side of the app) then click on your account email. Click on notification then make sure to uncheck the part that says Photos added from Auto-Backup.

Phone Different Startup Logo:

Problem: I have a galaxy note 3 that I recently purchased from a guy off of craigslist and when I powered it on I noticed it didn’t showed the Samsung logo or a cellular carrier logo like my other galaxy device did. the only thing it shows is a android and a jar of jelly beans. do you know what this could possibly be?

Solution:  The Android logo with a jar of jelly beans means that your phone is running on Android Jelly Bean. To know more about the software of your device just click on Settings and scroll to the bottom part where you will see “About device”. Click on this to get detailed information on your device software. From here you can check if your phone is running on stock firmware or if it is using a custom ROM.

Phone  Can’t Make A Conference Call

Problem: Thank you for all the helpful information you always give us. I have a three day old note 3 and today when I was  speaking to my brother with cancer I tried to do a conference call with my other brother so that we all could hear the medical issues. Well my new note would NOT allow me to do a merge it would shut down the call. This is odd as my other Mega 6.3 would do it. Is this a new issue or can it be resolved? Please help these conference calls are much needed as one is in Michigan, I’m in Iowa and the older brother (64 years old) lives in Texas.

Solution: To make a conference call follow the steps below.

While on a call, tap Add call.Enter the 10-digit phone number and tap the Call button. To dial a number from the contacts list, tap the Contacts tab.Scroll to and tap the desired contact.Tap the desired phone number. After the second call is connected, tap Merge. The conference call is now initiated.

If after tapping on merge the call instead gets disconnected then you should contact your service provider first and inquire if your account supports conference calls.

Once you have verified that your account supports conference calls then try rebooting your phone first then proceed in making a conference call.

If the issue is still the same then you may want to do a factory reset to eliminate any software related problems that may be causing this. Make sure to backup your phone data before proceeding.

Phone  Word Disappears If Number Is Placed After It:

Problem: Hi If I am texting someone and text like brandi1 the brandi disappears as soon as I add the 1 next to it very strange and very weird I tried other combinations a word with a number and the word goes away and number stays….can you help? Thank You.

Solution: This is indeed a strange issue. You should first try to check the input mode used for your SMS. Open the Messaging app then click on the three dots on the upper right side of the app then click Settings. Proceed by clicking on Text message settings then click on Input mode. Make sure that the dot is placed on automatic.

You should also clear the cache of your Messages app.

From the home screen, tap the Apps icon.Tap Settings. On the More tab, tap Application manager.Tap the All tab.Scroll to and tap the Messages application.Tap Clear cache. The application cache is now cleared.

Just in case this issue is caused by a third party application installed in your phone you should also start your phone in Safe mode. In this mode only the default apps are loaded while the third party apps you installed from the Google Play Store are disabled.

Power off the device.Press and hold the Power key for one or two seconds to turn on the device. When the Samsung logo displays press and hold the Volume down key until the lock screen displays. When the Lock screen is displayed Safe mode is displayed in the lower-left corner of the screen.

If the issue does not occur in Safe Mode then it is most likely caused by a third party app. Find out what that app is and uninstall it.

Phone Picture Processing Issue

Problem: When I take a picture, processing comes up and if I move my camera the picture is blurry.  Do I need to change the setting?  It use not do this.

Solution: You camera setting may be set to HDR mode. In this mode multiple shots are taken with varying exposure levels which are then combined to create one photo. This is why your phone is displaying the processing message. If you move your phone while the shot is taken then it is very likely that the photo will come out blurry.

If you would like your phone camera to take photos instantly then choose the Auto mode.

Open the Camera app.Click on the Mode Selector icon

The speakers on my phone are just fine I’ve never had the phone up too loud and it just started doing that within the last 2 months. But the speakers are just fine can you please help me with a solution? Please and thank you.

Solution: This issue may just be caused by some form of corrupt temporary data. Wiping the cache partition of your phone should help resolve the issue.

Phone Can’t Send text Message When Wi-Fi Is On

Problem: I have looked  through  all the trouble  shooting  problems  that can happen  with a Galaxy  Note 3 and did not find my problem listed. After multiple  calls to verizon tech support  and getting  5 replacement  phones and talking to Samsung tech support  I’m unable  to find a solution  to my problem. My problem is I’m unable to send a text when I have my wifi on. Sometimes after I turn off my wifi and restarting my phone I can send a text. Sometimes  I have to reboot  my phone  multiple  times  before  I can send  a text. The problem started when I got my first software upgrade. Can you please tell me how to fix my texting problem when I have my wifi setting turned on? I can receive texts but cannot send a text which is so annoying. I would appreciate and help you can give me.

Solution: Make sure that it is just plain text you are trying to send and not MMS (message with photos). This is because Verizon still does not support sending of MMS over Wi-Fi. The only other cause of the problem that I can think of other than this is the software of the phone. Try to check if there are any new updates and if here are, install them on your phone.

You should also check if the issue occurs on a particular Wi-Fi network or on all Wi-Fi networks your phone is connected to.

Phone Missing Photos:

Problem: Hi, i hope you can help me, couple days ago i just shocked finding out that hundreds of my photos are suddenly missing. Not all photos missing, only in my camera albums which the photos are gone and only remain videos. 2 other photos folders are also gone missing. I have been sad and desperate bout it, I dont know how this happen. Before this, i did uninstall 2 application from note 3 and also i connect the note 3 via usb to my laptop few times. Is that affecting these photos gone? Is there any chance to bring back the file or the photos that are missing?

Solution: Where are these photos stored? Are they stored in the internal memory of your phone or are they stored in the SD card?

If the photos are stored in the SD card then you should try taking the card out of your phone and inserting it to your computer. Using the file explorer of your computer search for the pictures in your SD card. If they can’t be found then they have most probably been deleted.

If you have activated Google Photos in your phone then a backup copy will be available on the cloud. Try accessing your Google Photos account on your computer and check if the missing photos are available.

If your Google photos are not activated, don't bother to worry your self send me an email with your phone full model code & software version by dialing *#1234# solution will be sent to you in 24hrs

Phone  Videos/Photos Can’t Be Displayed

Problem: I have galaxy note 3 I flashed it but i had a video and pics issues they can’t be played even the ones I took with the phone camera I have a 128gb sd came with the phone I don’t know if it is corrupted or not I didn’t format it either so please help me because some of my videos and pic could work once then can’t work anymore please send me a specific instructions step by step how to fix it I know you are the only one that can help thanks.

Solution: Try taking out the SD card and inserting it in your computer. Check if you can play the videos or view the photos. If you can’t then the card may be corrupt.  You should replace it with another one. Or if your files are vital you need to send me the SD card it self and your files will surely be recovered.

You should also try using a new SD card with your phone. Record some videos, take some photos then make sure the data is stored on the SD card. Check if you can play the videos or view the photos. If you can, then it’s most likely an issue with your previous SD card and not with the phone.

If the videos and photos end up being corrupted then it’s best to perform a factory reset on your phone. Make sure to backup your data first before performing the procedure.
